This program is designed to produce technicians with broad knowledge in engineering with applications covering the design, development, manufacture, operation and maintenance of machines and mechanical devices. Mechanical engineering is one of the most basic engineering branches and has got its own relevance. The latest trends towards MEMS technology have considerably increased the scope of this branch of engineering.
The Diploma holders may find their jobs in organizations involved in manufacturing, transportation, mining, construction, and also in consulting engineering. They may be involved in product design, technical sales, specifications preparation and cost estimates, testing, evaluating, and research and development. Some mechanical technologists will find employment in specialized fields such as design drafting training, material testing, automation and packaging, instrumentation design, and implementation of CAD / CAM equipments.
